Every simulation tool on Photizon is free to use. A free account adds the full materials database, every control and data export. Plus keeps your work.
Free and Plus
Free
$0
- Every simulation tool, see the list →
- Academy tutorials and per-tool manuals
- The full materials database — 3,500+ cited entries, searchable inside a tool
- Every analysis tab and readout, plus CSV export
- Share any setup by link
Plus
$49/yearor $5/month
Keep your work
Everything above, plus somewhere to keep it.
- Save named designs, reopen them anywhere
- Star the designs you keep coming back to — they stay at the top of your library
- Define up to 500 of your own materials — Sellmeier, Cauchy, tabulated or constant, n and k
- Cancel any time. You keep read, export and delete access to everything you saved.
Pro products
Plus keeps your work. The heavy engines are sold as separate Pro products, one domain at a time: optimization, mode solving, grating and propagation. Each Pro product includes Plus, so you never pay for the same thing twice.
Thin-Film Pro
— available now$399/yearor $40/month
Design and optimize optical coatings — reach a spectral target you define, then see how the design holds up against real deposition error.
Free simulator
Model a stack you already have.
- Spectrum — reflectance, transmittance and absorption against wavelength, at any angle and polarization
- Layer stack editor — add, remove and reorder layers, thickness or QWOT entry
- Starting designs — AR coatings, mirrors, bandpass, edge and notch filters
- With a free account — field profile, layer absorption, thickness and angle sweeps, admittance, ellipsometry, and CSV export
Thin-Film Pro
Find the stack you need.
- Set the target — reflectance, transmittance or absorption at the wavelengths, angles and polarizations you choose, each with its own weight
- Refine what you have — the optimizer moves thicknesses to hit the target and leaves the layers you lock alone
- Grow what you don't — it inserts new layers where they earn their place, then re-optimizes
- Tolerance the result — how far the spectrum drifts under realistic thickness and index error, which layer costs you the most, and the fraction of coating runs that would still meet your target
- Everything in Plus — saved designs, and your own materials
Methods: Levenberg-Marquardt refinement, needle synthesis, Monte-Carlo tolerance analysis.
Questions
What happens to my saved designs if I cancel?
You keep them. Cancelling stops new saves — it does not lock you out of what you already stored. You can still open your designs, export the whole library as a JSON file, and delete anything you want, for as long as your account exists. Custom materials you defined stay viewable and stay usable in simulations; you just can't create or edit them any more.
How do I cancel?
From your account page, through the Stripe customer portal. No email, no form, no retention call. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access runs to the end of the term you already paid for.
Can I get a refund?
14 days, no questions asked, on your first paid term — your first year if you subscribed annually, your first month if you subscribed monthly. Email support@photizon.com within 14 days of that charge. Renewals after the first term aren't refundable except where the law says otherwise.
Monthly or annual — which should I pick?
Plus is $49 a year or $5 a month; Thin-Film Pro is $399 a year or $40 a month. Monthly comes to $60 and $480 over a year, so annual is cheaper if you know you'll stay. Monthly is the honest answer if you only need it for one project. To switch, open the billing portal from your account page and pick the other plan — it's self-serve. If anything goes wrong, email support@photizon.com and we'll move you at your next renewal.
Will the price go up?
We may change the list price later. If we do, it doesn't affect a term you've already paid for, and you'd get advance notice with instructions on how to cancel before any higher renewal charge. There's no introductory rate here that quietly steps up — the prices on this page are the actual prices.
Do I need an account to use the tools?
No. Every simulator runs without signing in, with every physical parameter, the core material presets and the whole materials catalogue to browse; Academy tutorials and per-tool manuals are open to everyone, and you can share any setup by link. A free account adds the full materials database searchable inside a tool, every numerical-fidelity and non-ideality control, every analysis tab and readout, and CSV export. Plus is only about keeping your work.
Do you store what I simulate?
Not the simulation itself — solves are computed and handed back, not written to our database, whether or not you're signed in. Three things are stored, each because of something you did: designs and materials you save, the inputs and results of a long-running Pro job so we can hand you the result, and the design behind each file you export while signed in, which we keep as a usage record. Deleting your account deletes all three. The Privacy Policy has the specifics.
Can I get an invoice for my grant or department?
Yes — invoice history is in the Stripe portal, linked from your account page. Prices exclude any applicable tax.
What about the other big solvers — FDE, RCWA-2D, EME?
Those are sold the same way — separately, per domain, as each one is validated. Thin-Film Pro is the first; its price is on this page. For the rest, we publish a price on the day a tool goes on sale, not before.
