Ray-Optics Designer

Design lenses and mirror systems free in your browser. Go Pro when the design has to be built: the optimizer finds the prescription, and tolerancing tells you how many builds will meet spec.

Let the optimizer find it.

  • Hit your target: set spot size, focal length and color at your fields and wavelengths, and the optimizer moves only the variables you choose

Questions

Monthly or annual: which should I pick?
Annual costs less: Ray-Optics Design Pro is $1,499 a year or $150 a month, so a year of monthly comes to $1,800. Monthly makes sense if you need it for one project. To switch, open the billing portal from your account page and pick the other plan. If anything goes wrong, email support@photizon.com and we'll move you at your next renewal.
I already have Plus. What happens if I buy a Pro product?
The Pro product includes Plus, so after you subscribe, cancel Plus from your billing portal so you're not paying for storage twice. If the Pro product is Thin-Film Pro, email support@photizon.com and we'll refund the unused part of your Plus term.
How do I cancel, and what happens to my data?
From your account page, through the Stripe customer portal. No email, no form, no retention call. Canceling stops the next renewal; access runs to the end of the term you already paid for. After that you keep what you saved: you can still open your designs, read your notes and version history, export the whole library as a JSON file, and delete any design or material, for as long as your account exists. Custom materials you defined stay viewable and usable in simulations; you just can't create or edit them any more.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days, no questions asked, on your first paid term: your first year if you subscribed annually, your first month if you subscribed monthly. Email support@photizon.com within 14 days of that charge. Renewals after the first term aren't refundable except where the law says otherwise.
Can I get an invoice to expense it, or for my grant or department?
Yes. Invoice history is in the Stripe portal, linked from your account page. Prices exclude any applicable tax.
Does Ray-Optics Design Pro have a free trial?
Yes, once per account. It gives you a set number of runs inside a set window, both shown in the tool while it runs. There is no card at any point, and it never turns into a subscription. A run is one accepted job: an optimization or a tolerancing study. Building a design, importing a file and reading a result you already have do not count, and a run lost to a failure on our side is put back. While it runs it includes Plus, so your design is still there next session. When it ends, nothing you saved is removed.
